Here at Movilla House we are incredibly grateful for every single review, whether it is from someone who lives here, a family or team member or a friend of Movilla House.

Recently, Movilla House was described as ‘probably the best nursing home in Northern Ireland’ by a resident’s relative. It made us think that sometimes we may take for granted just what an exceptional place Movilla House is.

Right on the edge of Newtownards, near the border of Bangor, Movilla House is just a short drive to the coastal areas of Bangor, Crawfordsburn, Helen’s Bay, Cultra, Holywood and Donaghadee or to the Ards Peninsula villages of Ballywalter, Kircubbin, Greyabbey and beyond. People travel from all over Ards and North Down and far beyond for our outstanding nursing care.

We have consistently high review scores on carehome.co.uk and are proud to have outstanding ratings from the RQIA (Regulations and Quality Improvement Authority). The RQIA is the independent regulator of health and social care in Northern Ireland.

When it comes to finding the right care in the Ards and Bangor area, there are so many factors to consider, but hopefully recommendations from real people will help to make that decision a little easier.

Our families can speak very highly of the care our brother is receiving at Movilla House Nursing Home. He has Down's Syndrome, is partially paralysed and needs round the clock care. He has been a resident for two years. Staff at Movilla are skilled, attentive, approachable and very caring. The Nursing Home is set in beautiful grounds and has a country house welcoming atmosphere. Excellent standard of care with a real caring environment which creates an extremely homely environment. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and there's a real 'can do' attitude.
